2SA 2017 - 2018
Hi my name is Miss Allan and this is my third year teaching at Offley Primary Academy. I coordinate Science with Mrs Maddox and we are already very excited for our next Science week here at Offley. I am passionate about embracing practical opportunities for the children to expand their learning by making lessons fun. At home I love spending time with my three dogs; especially my pug Darcy, I also thoroughly enjoy craft projects. 2SA is also very lucky to have Mrs Clarkson and Mrs Gray spending some time in our class during the week.
2SA’s P.E slots take place on a Monday and Friday afternoon. Please ensure your child has their P.E. kit for each of these days.
Children are prompted to change their reading book each day, if they have read their book. We encourage children to read atleast four times a week and they will recieve a sticker for this, consistent reading each week will enable children to receive the reading treat at the end of term.
A huge well done to 2SA for their hard work over the past 3 weeks. We recieved not one but two certificates praising our efforts!
On Wednesday it was Offley's sports day and we were very excited to take part as we have been practising over the past few weeks. We loved cheering for our friends and watching our mums and dads take part in the parent races.
Here we are in action.
A big thank you to Mrs Forrester for our ice lollies rewarding our great team spirit!
We were inspired by sports day to write a recount of what happened. First we created a mind maps to collect our ideas and feelings about the day. We then used our mind maps to write a plan, ensuring that we included a range of sentence types and vocabulary.
In our topic sessions we have been learning about Grace Darling, a heroine that rescued people from the sea. We talked about why she is special and inspirational to others. Here we are role playing Grace and her father rescuing people from the wreckage.
Unfortunately we were unable to have our water activity today due to the rain however; we are going to save this activity for a sunny day to ensure we have a great time.
As a reward for our hard work this half term, we had lots of fun building different things in the classroom and having a dance off using these dance moves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Pc8mY5DNZA
Have a great week off 2SA you deserve it!
Next half term (5th June)
We are going to continue to explore our sea life topic and continue to build our fluency in telling the time.
