Design & Technology
At Offley Primary Academy, our Design and Technology curriculum is inspiring, challenging and purposeful. Children develop their knowledge through research and investigation of existing designs and products. We encourage children to use this knowledge, the needs and wants of others, along with their creativity and imagination, to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts.
Our children transition through a rigorous cycle of research, design, make and evaluate which results in the children producing a high-quality final product for a range of purposes. The children are also given opportunities to reflect upon and evaluate past and present design technology, its uses, and its effectiveness, and are encouraged to become innovators. This evaluation stage encourages our children to become self-regulated learners through identifying where designs could be improved.
