At Offley Primary Academy, we provide an engaging, inclusive, broad and balanced French curriculum, which is tailored to all of our pupils and their needs. We believe that pupils should have access to a high-quality language education that fosters their curiosity of the world around them and promotes a love of language learning. We build on children’s ‘cultural capital’ so that they develop a knowledge and understanding of the rich diversity between cultures in our community, the UK and wider world. We embed the essential skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, which enable children to express their ideas and thoughts in another language, and respond to its speakers, both in speech and writing. Our language teaching provides the foundation for learning further languages, equipping children to study and work in other countries.
