Religious Education
At Offley Primary Academy, pupils will:
- Gain an understanding of the 6 main world religions: Christianity, Islam, Jewish Faith, Hindu Faith, Sikhi Faith and the Buddhist Faith.
- Visit a place of worship.
- Gain an understanding of the community around them and factors that influence their lives, enabling them to participate positively in society.
- Gain the skills needed to understand, interpret, and evaluate texts and other sources of wisdom.
- Learn to articulate their own beliefs and experiences whilst also respecting others’ rights to differ.
- Understand the difference between a religion and a world view and start to develop their own ideas, identities and values.
Parents may withdraw their children from RE lessons on the grounds that they wish to provide their own RE teaching.
